Missing Our Loved Ones

Not an hour fades from the clock that doesn’t find us thinking about, missing, or longing to be with our friends, neighbors, family members, or spouse that has already passed away. We know the void we have is a result of the deep love we shared. We are confident in the expectation of comfort Scripture provides us for our mourning as we long for that great reunion!

Revelation 21:4 says And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away. Knowing our Father will calm us, eliminate dying, and stopping all suffering should motivate us to submit now so we can live eternally with Him. God will reverse the curse that entered the world through human sin.

Revelation 14:13 says Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, write: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on. Yes, says the Spirit that they may rest from their labors and their works follow them. This earthly life is filled with valleys & mountains. Our loved ones toiled daily and we face our trials in their absence. We must take comfort that Saints who heed God’s call to endurance, keeping God’s commandments and their faith in Jesus, are blessed at death with rest from their labors.

Philippians 1:21 says For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. Seeking to be with those who departed this earth requires us not to be concerned with comfort & advancement of this life. We are to focus on living each day for Christ. Death allowed Paul to be freed from his trouble-filled life and rejoice in Christ’s presence.

God’s comfort and promise will get us through today. Will you reflect the commitment has made to us so we all can live with Him forever?
