The Lord’s Church Is Not A Denomination

We are free to choose our career path, to choose where we live, & to choose who we vote for during elections. When it comes to worship, our commitment to spiritual matters, & the religion we practice, Scripture is the guide, not our choices! Society tends to say, “one group is as good as another.” The word denomination is used to compartmentalize religious bodies. Webster’s Dictionary defines the word denomination as “a religious organization whose congregations are united…”This false thinking implies truth doesn’t matter and the Lord’s church is not unique or separate from the world.

Scripture teaches the church is God’s institution and the body of Christ. Colossians 1:18 says And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.

Scripture teaches salvation is only found in Christ. Acts 4:12 says Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.

Scripture teaches worship must be acceptable. The acts of worship must include: Lord’s Supper (Acts 20:7), Singing (Ephesians 5:19), Praying (Acts 2:42), Teaching (II Timothy 4:1-4), & Giving (I Corinthians 16:1-2).
Scripture teachers true worship involves: the right object of worship = God, the right attitude = in spirit, and the right way = in truth (John 4:21-24).

Scripture teaches The Church has many congregations. Romans 12:4-5 says For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.

Church membership, attendance & worship is based on our submission to Scripture!
