Success, Significance, Salvation, Seeking

People spend the first part of their life seeking to be successful (learning skills to prepare them for work, establish their family, begin a job or career) then spend the second half of their life being significant. The challenge is to ensure we are not only focusing on success but being significant by serving God.

Joshua 1:1-2 teaches us God commissioned Joshua to take the place of Moses. Joshua was not only being empowered but he was being equipped. God told him in repetition that He would always be with Joshua (1:5, 6, 7, 9, 16). When we are obedient to God, we are not only pleasing to God, we are going to be successful. Seeking to serve God in a dark world surpasses any amount of secular success we may enjoy. God wanted Joshua to abound in the work He gave him. When we make God’s work priority we are being transformed and shaping others as well. Producing results in His Kingdom is more than success, it is significant.

God wants us to be successful & significant. More importantly, God wants everyone to be saved by following His Word (Rom. 10:17, Heb. Acts 2:38, Matt. 10-32-33, Mark 16:15-16, Rev. 2:10). We have success, significance & salvation because of Christ (Phil. 4:13). May we start by seeking.
