‘Till The End

We were blessed to celebrate our 18th wedding anniversary last Saturday. Yearly milestones remind us how blessed we are & how far we’ve come. I am thankful to have a Christian spouse. Wedding anniversaries remind us of God’s plan for marriage, how we are to handle challenges & the importance of focusing on eternity together.

Matthew 19:4-6 says And He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning made them male and female and said ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife and the two shall become one flesh?’ So then, they are no longer two but one flesh, Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.” We know marriage is not just a human agreement but a relationship with God that makes man & woman ONE FLESH permanently.

Galatians 6:2 says Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. Metaphorically speaking, we are all exiting a storm, in the middle of a storm, or going into a storm. We should be able to count on our spouse during any situation! Being there for our spouse is not only upholding our marriage vows, but reflecting Jesus Christ.

Acts 8:2 says And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentations over him. Scrip- ture gives us examples of grieving for those we care about and who have died. Losing our spouse is basis for grief & adjusting to life without our mate. The death of our Christian spouse should remind us that they have victory in Christ (1 Corinthians 15:50). Marriage with God as the foundation will ensure our commitment til the end.

Thank God for your Christian spouse!
