What Are You Permitting?

Many times we may think if we are “silent” on an issue or do not take a stand, we convince ourselves we are not going along with something that opposes God’s expectations for us. Therefore, we are “pleasing” the Lord. What we “permit, we promote.” Meaning, if we “go along” with sin or immoral behavior without opposition, then we are putting our “stamp of approval” on that particular issue. God doesn’t want us to be silent, but confident when we respond to Satan’s attacks.

God expects us to “contend for the faith” each day we leave our homes. Christ is the basis for our confidence and our standard. We must remember:

· We have confidence through faith (Eph. 3:11-12)

· “The Lord is My Helper” (Heb. 13:6)

· Christ guards us (II Tim. 1:7-8)

· God has given power to us (II Tim. 1:7-8)

· To be committed to study (II Tim. 2:15)

· Christ is the Standard (Heb. 12:3)

· Our confidence is rewarded (Heb. 10:35)

We can be bold in overcoming evil and dealing with sin in all forms. We must seek righteousness in prayer (James 1:6) and remember God is with us always. Psalms 23:4 says, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.” When faced, may we respond to sin with Scripture and not support.
